Tanium Certified Operator (TCO) Exam
Entry-level exam for Tanium certification beginners that serves to identify those who can demonstrate core foundational knowledge/skills of basic Tanium functionality.

Tanium Certified Administrator (TCA) Exam
Next-level certification exam for individuals looking to enhance their Tanium certifications portfolio or progress into Tanium Professional level certifications.

Tanium Certified Specialist Cloud Deployment (TCSCD) Exam
Advanced certification exam serving to validate an individual’s knowledge around qualifying, planning, setting up and operationalizing Tanium Cloud deployments.

How much does it cost to add Hands-On Labs to my Converge ticket?
Adding In-Person Labs to your Converge In-Person ticket costs $495.00 ($395.00 for verified government employees).

What is included with my In-Person Labs ticket?
The In-Person Labs ticket add-on awards registrants with choice of one of the below access options:

  • Up to eight (8) Labs total to take in-person at Converge
    • Nov. 14th: three (3) Labs
    • Nov. 16th: three (3) Labs
    • Nov. 17th: two (2) Labs
  • Up to five (5) Labs total to take in-person at Converge + Capture the Flag (CTF) 
    • Nov. 14th: Capture the Flag (CTF)
    • Nov. 16th: three (3) In-Person Labs
    • Nov. 17th: two (2) In-Person Labs


When do I need to confirm my Lab sessions by?
In-Person Lab signups will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until 5:00pm PT on Friday, October 21, 2022 or when the Lab’s capacity is reached, whichever comes first. This policy will also apply to those who register for Labs and wish to change their selections after completing their registration.

What is the cancellation policy?
If you can attend Converge but need to cancel In-Person Labs from your ticket, you can do so by contacting [email protected].

If you can no longer attend Converge or Hands-On Labs, you can cancel your registration by providing written notice to Tanium by emailing [email protected].

The Converge refund policy is as follows:

  • Cancellation on or before Sunday, October 2, 2022: Full refund of registration fee, less a $50.00 processing fee
  • Cancellation on or after October 3, 2022: Partial refund at Tanium’s sole discretion. 

If applicable, Tanium will refund the Registrant’s registration fees within sixty (60) days of receipt of the cancellation notice. No registration refunds will be provided other than through the process described here. 

Can I get  CEU credits once I complete an In-Person Lab?
Yes! All Hands-On Labs are CEU credit eligible. To receive credits, you will need to opt-in to being scanned into the Lab sessions you attend at Converge. You will then receive an email approximately one month after the event concludes with instructions on how to access your CEU credit certificates. 0.2 CEU credits will be awarded for every in-person Hands-On Lab completed.

Virtual attendees can add Virtual Self-Service Labs to their Converge Virtual ticket for $199. This fee is applied in addition to the Converge Virtual base ticket cost.

What is included with my Virtual Self-Service Labs ticket?
The Virtual Self-Service Labs ticket add-on includes access to the following:

  • Up to (4) virtual self-service Labs to explore at your own pace on November 15th and 16th. (Lab format will include access to a recorded lecture provided by Tanium experts, followed by access to the corresponding custom-built sandbox environment.)
  • Capture the Flag (CTF) on November 14th (Pre-registration required).

What is Capture the Flag (CTF)?
Capture the Flag (CTF) is a virtual competition where teams of Tanium users race to solve a variety of competitive challenges by leveraging various Tanium Security and Risk modules. Challenges include investigations and Threat Hunting on Windows and Linux, Lateral Movement, Persistence, PowerShell Attacks, Memory Analysis, Signals Analysis, Sensors and “Living off the Land Binaries and Scripts."

Are there any prizes for the winners of CTF?
Yes! The top five (5) CTF teams will exclusively qualify to participate in the inaugural Escape Room competition taking place virtually on the last day of Converge (November 17th). More information about the Escape Room can be found here

How do I sign up for CTF?
To sign-up for CTF, add either the In-Person Labs or Virtual Self-Service Labs add-on to your base ticket and indicate your interest in participating in CTF on the Session Selection page while registering. Note that if you are attending in-person, signing up for Capture the Flag (CTF) will prevent you from selecting any in-person Labs taking place at the same time as CTF on November 14th.

When do I need to sign-up for CTF by?
CTF will be open for sign-ups until 11:59pm PT on Sunday, October 9, 2022. After this date, new CTF sign-ups will not be permitted.

Who can best help me with questions related to CTF?
Questions related to CTF registrations and sign-ups should be emailed to [email protected]. Any questions regarding CTF challenges, CTF teams or the CTF lab environment should be sent to [email protected].

I signed up for CTF during registration. What happens next?
You will receive an email approximately six (6) weeks prior to Converge with instructions on how to confirm your CTF team captain, team name and team members. CTF teams will consist of up to four (4) team members total (including yourself) and all CTF team members must be registered for Capture the Flag (CTF) and possess an In-Person Labs or Virtual Self-Service Labs ticket. What dates and times during Converge will I be able to take the TCO, TCA or TCSCD Certification Exam?
The TCO, TCA and TCSCD Certification Exams will be available to take on-site at Converge on November 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th. After registering for Converge with a Certification Exam add-on, you will be contacted by the Tanium Certifications Team with instructions on how to sign-up for the date and time when you will take the exam during Converge.

Which Certification Exams will be offered at Converge 2022?

 The below certification exams will be available to take on-site at Converge 2022:

  • Tanium Certified Operator (TCO) Exam
  • Tanium Certified Administrator (TCA) Exam
  • Tanium Certified Specialist Cloud Deployment (TCSCD) Exam


Can I take the TCA Certification Exam at Converge 2022?
You can take the TCA exam at Converge 2022 as long as you have taken and passed the Tanium Certified Operator (TCO) exam prior to registering for the TCA exam.

Can I take the 
Tanium Certified Specialist Cloud Deployment (TCSCD) exam at Converge 2022?
You can take the TCSCD exam at Converge 2022 as long as you have taken and passed the Tanium Certified Operator (TCO) exam prior to registering for the TCSCD exam.

When would I get the Certification Exam results if I take the exam at Converge 2022?
Results are available immediately. Candidates will receive a printout of their results after the exam. Successful candidates will not receive any additional information regarding exam results. Candidates who do not pass will receive additional information related to section level performance. Score reports are also available immediately via the Pearson VUE dashboard and should show up in your candidate profile in the Tanium Career Certifications portal within 48 hours of taking the exam.

How long do I get when I take the Certification Exam?
The Tanium Certified Operator (TCO) exam and Tanium Certified Specialist Cloud Deployment (TCSCD) exam are each 90 minutes long. The Tanium Certified Administrator (TCA) is 150 minutes long.

I can’t make it to Austin. Can I take the Certification Exam virtually?
This is a special testing event available only to Converge onsite attendees. Exam registration is always available via our two standard delivery options available at any time:

  • In-person at a testing center
  • OnVUE Online Proctoring


I already have a voucher to take a Tanium exam, can I use it at Converge?
Absolutely, as long as the voucher does not expire prior to November 17, 2022, it can be applied to your Certification Exam fees in your Converge 2022 registration. To use an existing voucher, contact [email protected].
