About Michael:

Michael Suby is a Research Vice President in IDC’s Security & Trust research discipline. In this role, Mr. Suby concentrates on endpoint security and, in collaboration with IDC team members, engages in topics spanning a wide and evolving spectrum of security and trust topics. In the broad endpoint security landscape, Mr. Suby’s focuses on impactful developments in solutions, markets, cyber threats, and end-user requirements in the following endpoint security categories: modern endpoint security, server security, and consumer digital life protection.

Mr. Suby joined IDC with 20 years of industry analyst experience concentrated in cybersecurity and business communication services. Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Suby served as the Vice President of Research of the Stratecast division in Frost & Sullivan. In addition to leading the cybersecurity research practice, Mr. Suby led his analyst team in producing forward-leaning research in cloud computing, big data & analytics, business & consumer communication services, and monetization & operational support systems. As a prolific contributor to cybersecurity research, Mr. Suby divided his attention across both new and established cybersecurity solutions. Once-emerging cybersecurity technologies Mr. Suby was among the first analysts to identify and produce innovative research included cloud security (in and of), incident detection & response, remote browser isolation, content disarm & reconstruction, cloud access security broker, network access control, SSL VPN, and data leak prevention.
