In-Person Labs
Tanium expert-led lectures with opportunities for hands-on experience in custom-built environments. Intended for both new users and those looking to expand their existing Tanium skills and knowledge.
Virtual Self-Service Labs
User-driven access to a select number of lab environments to explore at user’s own pace on November 14 and 15. The format of the Virtual Self-Service Labs will include access to recorded lectures by Tanium experts, followed by access to the corresponding custom-built sandbox environments.
Capture the Flag
Capture the Flag (CTF)
A virtual competition where users leverage Tanium's biggest security module, Threat Response, and other Security and Risk Suite modules, to compete against other CTF teams to solve a variety of competitive challenges.
Escape Room
The top five CTF teams will exclusively qualify to compete in the Escape Room challenge at Converge 2023, which will consist of a series of challenges that participating teams must work through to advance through four custom Escape Room environments – all before the clock runs out!
On-Site Certification Exams
Tanium Certified Operator (TCO) Exam
Entry-level exam for Tanium certification beginners that serves to identify those who can demonstrate core foundational knowledge/skills of basic Tanium functionality.
Tanium Certified Administrator (TCA) Exam
TCA serves to identify candidates who can demonstrate the ability to operationalize, maintain, and troubleshoot the platform in a Tanium Cloud environment.
Tanium Certified Specialist Cloud Deployment (TCSCD) Exam
Advanced certification exam serving to validate an individual’s knowledge around qualifying, planning, setting up, and operationalizing Tanium Cloud deployments.
Tanium Certified Professional Endpoint Management (TCPEM) Exam
Advanced certification exam serving to validate an individual’s ability to manage, report on, and administer Tanium module capabilities to achieve operational effectiveness.

In-Person Labs
Tanium expert-led lectures with opportunities for hands-on experience in custom-built environments. Intended for both new users and those looking to expand their existing Tanium skills and knowledge.
Adding In-Person Labs to your Converge In-Person ticket costs $495.00 ($395.00 for verified government employees).
The In-Person Labs ticket add-on awards registrants with choice of one of the below access options:
- Up to seven (7) Labs total to take in-person at Converge
- Nov. 13: three (3) Labs
- Nov. 15: two (2) Labs
- Nov. 16: two (2) Labs
- Up to four (4) Labs total to take in-person at Converge + Capture the Flag (CTF)
- Nov. 13: Capture the Flag (CTF)
- Nov. 15: two (2) In-Person Labs
- Nov. 16: two (2) In-Person Labs
No, PART 1: Incident Response - Examine the Enemy and PART 2: Incident Response - Expel the Enemy must be taken successively on the same-day. During the registration process, when you select PART 1: Incident Response - Examine the Enemy, you will automatically be registered for PART 2: Incident Response - Expel the Enemy on the same day. For any additional questions, please contact [email protected].
In-Person Lab signups will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until 5:00 PM PT on Friday, October 20, 2023 or when the Lab’s capacity is reached, whichever comes first. This policy will also apply to those who register for Labs and wish to change their selections after completing their registration.
If you can attend Converge but need to cancel In-Person Labs from your ticket, you can do so by contacting [email protected].
If you can no longer attend Converge or Hands-On Labs, you can cancel your registration by providing written notice to Tanium by emailing [email protected].
The Converge refund policy is as follows:
- Cancellation on or before Sunday, October 1, 2023: Full refund of registration fee, less a $50.00 processing fee
- Cancellation on or after October 2, 2023: Partial refund at Tanium’s sole discretion.
If applicable, Tanium will refund the Registrant’s registration fees within sixty (60) days of receipt of the cancellation notice. No registration refunds will be provided other than through the process described here.
Yes! All Hands-On Labs are CEU credit eligible. To receive credits, you will need to opt-in to being scanned into the Lab sessions you attend at Converge. You will then receive an email approximately one month after the event concludes with instructions on how to access your CEU credit certificates. 0.2 CEU credits will be awarded for every in-person Hands-On Lab completed.

Virtual Self-
Service Labs
User-driven access to a select number of lab environments to explore at user’s own pace on November 14 and 15. The format of the Virtual Self-Service Labs will include access to recorded lectures by Tanium experts, followed by access to the corresponding custom-built sandbox environments.
Virtual attendees can add Virtual Self-Service Labs to their Converge Virtual ticket for $199. This fee is applied in addition to the Converge Virtual base ticket cost.
The Virtual Self-Service Labs ticket add-on includes access to the following:
- Up to (4) virtual self-service Labs to explore at your own pace on November 14 and 15. (Lab format will include access to a recorded lecture provided by Tanium experts, followed by access to the corresponding custom-built sandbox environment.)
- Capture the Flag (CTF) on November 13 (Pre-registration required).
Those with the Virtual Self-Service Labs ticket add-on will have access to the four (4) custom-built lab environments of their choosing. Two (2) on November 14, and two (2) 15, where they can complete labs with the help of the provided supplemental materials.
These materials will consist of the following:
- Lab access guide
- Custom lab environment
- Lab presentation recording
- Lab presentation PDF
- Supporting lab materials (if applicable)
Virtual Self-Service Lab signups will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until 5:00pm PT on Friday, October 20, 2023 or when capacity is reached, whichever comes first. This policy will also apply to those who register for Labs and wish to make/change their individual Lab selections after completing their registration.
If you no longer wish to take the Virtual Self-Service Labs, you can cancel them from your Converge Virtual registration by emailing [email protected].

Capture the Flag
A virtual competition where users leverage Tanium's biggest security module, Threat Response, and other Security and Risk Suite modules, to compete against other CTF teams to solve a variety of competitive challenges.
Capture the Flag (CTF) is a virtual competition where teams of Tanium users race to solve a variety of competitive challenges by leveraging various Tanium Security and Risk modules. Challenges include investigations and Threat Hunting on Windows and Linux, Lateral Movement, Persistence, PowerShell Attacks, Memory Analysis, Signals Analysis, Sensors and “Living off the Land Binaries and Scripts."
Yes! The top five (5) CTF teams will qualify to participate in the exclusive Escape Room competition taking place virtually on the last day of Converge (November 16), plus win additional prizes. More information about the Escape Room can be found here.
To sign-up for CTF, add either the In-Person Labs or Virtual Self-Service Labs add-on to your base ticket and indicate your interest in participating in CTF on the Session Selection page while registering. Note that if you are attending in-person, signing up for Capture the Flag (CTF) will prevent you from selecting any in-person Labs taking place at the same time as CTF on November 13.
CTF will be open for sign-ups until 11:59 PM PT on Sunday, October 8, 2023. After this date, new CTF sign-ups will not be permitted.

You will receive an email approximately six (6) weeks prior to Converge with instructions on how to confirm your CTF team captain, team name and team members. CTF teams will consist of up to four (4) team members total (including yourself) and all CTF team members must be registered for Capture the Flag (CTF) and possess an In-Person Labs or Virtual Self-Service Labs ticket. More information on the CTF process and important dates can be found here.
Certification Exams
The Tanium Certified Operator (TCO), Tanium Certified Specialist Cloud Deployment (TCSCD), Tanium Certified Administrator (TCA) and Tanium Certified Professional Endpoint Management (TCPEM) Exams will be available to take on-site at Converge 2023.
The TCO, TCA and TCSCD, and TCPEM Certification Exams will be available to take on-site at Converge on November 13, 14, 15, and 16. After registering for Converge with a Certification Exam add-on, you will be contacted by the Tanium Certifications Team with instructions on how to sign-up for the date and time when you will take the exam during Converge. Scheduling for the TCPEM Certification Exam will be in Mid-October.
The below certification exams will be available to take on-site at Converge 2023:
- Tanium Certified Operator (TCO) Exam
- Tanium Certified Administrator (TCA) Exam
- Tanium Certified Specialist Cloud Deployment (TCSCD) Exam
- Tanium Certified Professional Endpoint Management (TCPEM) Exam
You can take the TCA exam at Converge 2023 as long as you have taken and passed the Tanium Certified Operator (TCO) exam prior to registering for the TCA exam.
You can take the TCSCD exam at Converge 2023 as long as you have taken and passed the Tanium Certified Operator (TCO) exam prior to registering for the TCSCD exam.
You can take the TCPEM exam at Converge 2023 as long as you have taken and passed the Tanium Certified Operator (TCO) exam prior to registering for the TCPEM exam.
Results are available immediately. Candidates will receive a printout of their results after the exam. Successful candidates will not receive any additional information regarding exam results. Candidates who do not pass will receive additional information related to section level performance. Score reports are also available immediately via the Pearson VUE dashboard and should show up in your candidate profile in the Tanium Career Certifications portal within 48 hours of taking the exam.
- TCO – 105 minutes
- TCA – 110 minutes
- TCSCD – 90 minutes
- TCPEM – 105 minutes
This is a special testing event available only to Converge onsite attendees. Exam registration is always available via our two standard delivery options available at any time:

- OnVUE Online Proctoring
Absolutely, as long as the voucher does not expire prior to November 16, 2023, it can be applied to your Certification Exam fees in your Converge 2023 registration. To use an existing voucher, contact [email protected].
