Full Visibility into Sensitive-Data Storage

Elevance Health, a provider of health insurance, has strict rules on where sensitive data can be stored. Yet the company’s legacy management tools couldn’t prevent sensitive data from being improperly stored on endpoint devices. Elevance implemented Tanium Reveal to quickly gain visibility into where sensitive data was being stored. Initially, the team looked at endpoints located in offshore locations. There, they used sensors to synchronize the offshore groups’ directory listings with results from saved questions. This revealed that most of the hits were coming from downloads and recycle bin folders. In response, the team established a workflow to alert the appropriate remote users, instructing them to both clear their recycle bins and move all downloaded files with sensitive data to company-approved storage locations. Now Elevance is expanding the Tanium Reveal use case to include the entire enterprise. It also plans to broaden the scans to include temporary files. Join this session and learn how Elevance has used Tanium to gain full visibility across all its endpoints and keep sensitive data where it belongs.
