Claire Bailey is the Chief Security Advisor at Tanium, supporting U.S. State and Local Government & Education (SLED). With more than 40 years of experience working with federal, state and local governments, her background includes driving modernization, security, and transformation initiatives in both private and public sector leadership roles throughout her career.
Before joining, Tanium Bailey worked at Veracode as the Area Vice President of Governmental Affairs, as Vice President of Business Development at KWR Strategies, and previously served as Compuware’s Director of Federal, State and Local Mainframe Solutions.
In the public sector, Bailey served on the cabinets of Governor Mike Huckabee and Governor Mike Beebe. As Chief Technology Officer for the State of Arkansas for eight years, she led multiple teams to bring new and improved technology solutions in for citizens across Arkansas. Prior to her role as CTO, she served as the Director of the Department of Information Systems for Arkansas.
Bailey has served in several leadership roles for some of the Nation’s most critical state and local government technology associations including the National Association of State Technology Directors (NASTD), GovTAP, and the National Association of State CIOs (NASCIO).
Throughout her career, Bailey has received numerous honors and recognition for her work, including the Governor’s Quality Award (Arkansas), national Best of the Web recognition for Arkansas.gov, Government Technology’s Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers; and several StateScoop 50 leadership awards for both her public and private sector work in government. In 2018, Bailey was inducted into the Arkansas Academy of Computing.
Bailey earned her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Additionally, she has achieved certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.
