Kyle Dewar is an Executive Client Advisor and retired U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Colonel with a distinguished 35-year career spanning military leadership, cybersecurity strategy, and public sector innovation. Commissioned in 1993 after earning a B.S. in Mathematics from California Polytechnic State University, Dewar has served in both active duty and reserve roles, including mobilizations and deployments in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. In his civilian career, Dewar has become a recognized thought leader in cybersecurity and IT modernization. He has held strategic roles supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy, the Joint Staff, Headquarters Marine Corps, and Marine Forces Reserve. As a Tanium Certified Operator, Dewar has helped federal agencies—including the Marine Corps, Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. Coast Guard—operationalize cyber defense platforms, enhance command and control (C2) networks, and implement role-based access controls to improve visibility and resilience. Dewar’s work has been instrumental in expanding Tanium’s footprint, usage, and usefulness across federal agencies. He has led engagements and provided thought leadership around the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), renewal of CISA 2015, and Tanium’s integration with Microsoft Sentinel. A 6-year veteran of Tanium, Converge 2025 will be his 5th Converge event. Dewar is active in Tanium Federal’s annual FedCyber Exchange and regularly advises senior federal CIOs and CISOs on threat-informed, outcome-focused capabilities. His published works and internal briefings reflect a deep understanding of tactical networks, cyber operations, and public-private collaboration. Dewar is also a mentor and speaker, frequently involved in cybersecurity summits and strategic panels. A graduate of the U.S. Army War College Distant Eduction Program, Dewar continues to bridge military discipline with commercial innovation.
