Bio:
Matt Gardner has been Deputy Chief Digital and Information Officer at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) since May 2025. He is an experienced board‑level executive working within one of the largest NHS trusts in England, having previously been Chief Digital and Information Officer at The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust and executive lead for transformation. Matt previously held senior national roles including Head of Digital Transformation at NHS England, with accountability for setting national digital policy, standards and delivery priorities and for directing and assuring the effective use of significant public expenditure. He brings extensive experience across the NHS and private sector, including delivery of one of the first integrated electronic patient records in the UK, an award‑winning Global Digital Exemplar programme, and the use of digital, data and technology to support elective recovery and new hospital design.
